“Faith is the substance of things hoped, the evidence of things unseen.” Hebrews 11:1
Every week Josh Hicks would ask God,
“Would you please provide for me so I can pay my employees to keep working? And would you please provide enough so we can buy material to finish these jobs adequately and efficiently? And if there’s anything left, would you give it to me? So I can pay some bills for our home.”
Hebrews 11:1 is the scripture that Josh Hick’s leaned into through his trials of being rejected by the missionary, enlisting in the military, suffering PTSD, and starting a business to serve that was a financial burden to his family. But his faith held firm.
Faith is messy. Faith is small, big, confusing, straightforward, backwards, forwards, strong, weak – and sometimes, you just have to listen to God and take a leap of faith. It is always brilliant, and it will always shine through. The design of this shirt shows how all faith, no matter what state, is interconnected and builds up Jesus’ cross.
